Real Reason Brock Lesnar Is Entering WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Match
Just why exactly has WWE decided to put Paul Heyman's Beast in the Rumble match?
While it was expected that Brock Lesnar’s appearance on last night’s Raw would be to establish who Lesnar’s opponent would be at the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV, fans were left a little surprised to see Paul Heyman announce that his Beast will actually be competing in the Royal Rumble match itself at the January 26th PPV.
Hearing that Brock would not only be entering the Royal Rumble, but that he’d be entering at #1 had fans wondering just why WWE decided go in this route with the current WWE Champion. And now, the usually reliable @WrestleVotes has an update on the thinking behind all of this.
Seemingly, the reason for Lesnar entering the Rumble is simply as a way to start the ball rolling towards WrestleMania 36 for the former UFC Heavyweight Champion.
At this stage, it’s yet to be decided who Brock will be facing at this April’s Showcase of the Immortals, but the seeds for his ‘Mania opponent will be sown during the 30-man over-the-top Royal Rumble match. And for those wondering, don't expect Lesnar himself to emerge victorious in Rumble.
Superstars from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT will be competing in the men and women’s Royal Rumble matches, which offers up a whole host of different scenarios for Brock Lesnar.
The last we’d heard, Brock won’t be facing either Tyson Fury or Cain Velasquez at WrestleMania 36. Likewise, any rumblings of Edge returning to face Lesnar at the Granddaddy of Them All are similarly false.
In terms of a curve-ball, how ‘bout we just go with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Keith Lee at WrestleMania 36, yeah? Sounds good to us.
