Chad Gable is doing that clapping thing during his entrance for a VERY specific reason.

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select has revealed that Chad Gable's new clapping entrance gimmick ties neatly into the host site for this year's SummerSlam PLE in early-August. According to sources within WWE, Gable (who hails from the area) will keep that going until the company rolls into Minneapolis, Minnesota just over a full month from now.

Of course, the NFL's Minnesota Vikings and their fans perform a clapping routine whilst chanting "Skol" over and over again. That's the sort of thing WWE chiefs are going for with Gable, so expect him to keep it up. This might also suggest that Chad is set for a starring role come SummerSlam, but that wasn't confirmed in Fightful's write-up.

Again, this isn't something WrestleVotes/Fightful said, but...why would management bother to implement a clapping idea for Gable heading into SummerSlam in Minneapolis if he wasn't going to be on either night in Minnesota? That wouldn't really make much sense.

Chad earned rave reviews for his performance opposite Ludwig Kaiser's version of El Grande Americano at AAA's Noche de los Grandes event on 30 May. The pair's 'Mask vs. Mask' match has been heavily hyped on mainline WWE programming, and Gable has slid into a featured role on Raw since returning as himself and apologising to stars like Rey Fenix, Penta, Dragon Lee and the legendary Rey Mysterio.

He beat Rusev in a hot bout on the 15 June edition of WWE's flagship, so things are looking rather rosy for the one-time 'Shorty G'. Long may it continue, and it looks like this clapping business will secure his SummerSlam status if nothing else.
