Real Reason Miro Has VANISHED From AEW

The Redeemer has only wrestled four matches this year, but he's not injured.

Despite wrestling just one match since June, Miro is not injured or sidelined of his own volition.

Fightful Select reports that this latest absence, which reaches back to September's AEW All Out PPV, is not due to any injury or a lack of desire from Miro to compete. AEW sources told Fightful that Miro is "completely healthy, and wanting to actively compete." However, they were told that creative hasn't been presented for him.

AEW's Redeemer has been a paradoxical wrestler. He gets tremendous reactions from fans, is generally praised for his work and is pretty well protected, but he also has disappeared for large swaths of time with no clear direction for his character.

Miro returned from a six-month absence in June to defeat Johnny Elite (Morrison) and vied for the newly created All-Atlantic Championship at AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door later that month. He then would not compete for another two-plus months before joining former rival Darby Allin and Sting to defeat the House of Black at All Out.

Fightful reported that they were told there were "plans to have creative conversations," but they haven't occurred yet. Miro reportedly is eager to return to active status.

Whenever criticisms about AEW's roster size, or the continued co-existence with Ring of Honor surface, situations like Miro's often get highlighted. Getting someone like him back in action and reheated would only improve the product and help silence some of the critics.
