WWE's next big pay-per-view, Survivor Series 2021, takes place in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday 21 November, though you could be forgiven for forgetting all about it considering the lack of attention it has been given on WWE television.

The promotion is yet to announce or even tease a single bout for the event. If something doesn't happen on tonight's episode of SmackDown, WWE will have just two episodes of Raw and the blue brand to go before 2021's last 'Big Four' show.

Dave Meltzer writes in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE's mentality when it comes to Survivor Series is that Crown Jewel 2021 was pushed so heavily, and that their current focus is getting fresh feuds over with the new post-Draft rosters, that they are content to leave the build until the final few weeks.

Survivor Series typically takes on the maligned Brand Warfare format, with Raw wrestlers meeting their SmackDown counterparts. In theory, this would mean bouts like Big E vs. Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair, though there's currently no word on either.

Perhaps something will spark on SmackDown tonight.
