Fightful Select is reporting that Hit Row doesn't have backstage heat with WWE management. The site's sources told them there's "nothing out of the ordinary" in terms of how higher-ups view the group, which includes Top Dolla, Ashante 'Thee' Adonis and B-FAB.

Fightful's sources also revealed why the group was rehired last year (sans AEW's Swerve Strickland, obviously) once Triple H seized control of WWE's creative operations. Someone "near creative" informed them that Hit Row were brought back into the mix to "add depth" to the roster and "prevent rematch-heavy shows" that had become a hallmark under Vince McMahon.

Apparently, Trips wanted to move on from that style. WWE does still produce rematches (even in the tag-team division), but acts like Hit Row exist to mix things up a little. It's been clear to everyone watching that the trio hasn't been successful second time round though.

In fact, they've flopped as both babyfaces and heels since bursting back into view last summer. Michael Cole has even been taking some digs at Top Dolla on commentary, and recently called him "Flop Dolla" during an episode of SmackDown.
