Former WWE star Wesley Blake has told Wrestling Inc's Daily Podcast that he thought he'd be a "lifer" with the company right up until his 15 April release.

The one-time Forgotten Sons member did also call the termination of his contract a "blessing in disguise", but only because it meant he could spend a bit more time with his family back home. Blake was obviously bummed out though - he thought he'd be with WWE forever.

Wes went deep on how he and partner Steve Cutler tackled controversial tweets fired out by old Sons' leader Jaxson Ryker last year. According to Blake, the pair asked Jaxson to take the posts down. When he refused, they told him they'd do whatever it took to make sure management knew they had nothing to do with it and definitely didn't share Ryker's views.

Unfortunately, their cards were marked from that point on.

Blake's release came as a shock to him, because he had always thought he'd stay with WWE "for the rest of [his] career". Not even Ryker's controversy and the abandonment of the Forgotten Sons gimmick could dissuade him from thinking he was a WWE "lifer".
