Oney Lorcan is back in WWE - but not in his previous capacity as a wrestler.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that the former NXT Tag Team Champion has been at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida this week, working as a guest coach. There is no word on how long his tenure will stretch, however.

WWE often invites guest coaches to its training facility, presumably to important their skills and knowledge to developmental prospects, so Lorcan's presence isn't out of the norm. It comes less than a year since Oney's release from the company, however. November 2021 saw the 36-year-old ask to be let go from WWE after six years in the developmental system, throughout which he had starred as an energising, hard-hitting in-ring force, even when he wasn't being pushed.

NXT's recent transformation from 2.0 back towards something resembling its black and gold heyday coincided with Lorcan teasing a return. Perhaps this guest coaching role was what he was getting at all along.

As Biff Busick, Lorcan has been a standout on the independent scene in 2022, working stiff, competitive matches with the likes of Jon Moxley, Brody King, and Wheeler Yuta.
