Repackaged NXT Wrestler Returns, Destroys Bron Breakker At Great American Bash
Bron Breakker had little time to celebrate following his NXT Title defence over Cameron Grimes.
The former Jordan Devlin paid of weeks of vignettes during last night's NXT Great American Bash special, completing his WWE repackaged by attacking Bron Breakker to close the show.
Breakker had just mounted a successful defence over Cameron Grimes in the evening's main event. It was the fifth time Bron has put the belt on the line since becoming NXT Champion for the second time on 4 April, with Grimes, who had tried to injure Breakker in the build, put away after he was speared out of the sky while diving from the corner.
One of McDonagh's return vignettes had aired prior to the bout. Following Bron's victory, the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion struck from behind, driving the NXT Champion through a table set up by the stage. JD then stood tall to close the Great American Bash.
As Jordan Devlin, McDonagh has made several NXT US appearances in the past, most noticeably when he was either challenging for or reigning with the Cruiserweight Championship. More recently, he had been competing in NXT UK, though he hasn't competed on the British brand since April.
McDonagh, 32, was accused of physically abusing a former partner during the Speaking Out movement of June 2020. He refuted those allegations and was investigated by WWE, who ultimately decided against taking action.
