The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online's Bryan Alvarez has contributed to a discussion on his website's message board relating to why AEW is continuing to produce wrestling shows through the ongoing global health crisis, stating that the promotion wouldn't be able to survive if it was to go on hiatus.

"If AEW stops running shows, they are almost certainly going to go out of business," said Alvarez. He noted that TNT wouldn't pay their rights fees if they decided to shut things down while the situation unfolds, adding that AEW doesn't have the same resources as WWE to ride this out.

This leaves the promotion with a couple of options: either their stop production and leave their employees without a paying job in the middle of the global health crisis, or they endeavour to keep going in the safest manner possible. Alvarez believes AEW is doing a better job than most in that regard.

While nothing will ever be 100% safe, AEW's safety measures are at least a step or two above WWE, as they have been testing talent at every set of television tapings for months. Alvarez's comment essentially confirms rumours of the promotion's obligation to produce a certain amount of original content for the network.
