Report: CM Punk Tells AEW He "Hates This Place"
Latest on CM Punk and Jack Perry after heated AEW All In altercation.
CM Punk has reportedly told people that he "hates this place" in reference to AEW's regular backstage troubles, reports Fightful Select.
This follows All In 2023 (27 August), where Punk is understood to have become embroiled in a backstage skirmish with Jack Perry. Regarding the "hates this place" quote", Fightful's sources have indicated that plenty within AEW believe that Punk is "plenty responsible for those issues."
Fightful notes, too, that Punk and AEW founder/CEO Tony Khan haven't communicated much since the Perry situation unfolded.
All In's blow-up has been met with a lot of eye-rolling and "this again?" responses, with accounts of what actually happened varying. In this latest write-up, Fightful states that a source has indicated the following:
"... with 100 percent certainty, Jack Perry didn't throw the first punch. Punk shoved him and put him in a choke."
Different versions place the blame on different people. Interestingly, Fightful states that one account has Samoa Joe playing peacekeeper in the situation. The incident played out before Punk entered for his show-opening match with Joe.
The issues seemingly stem from a previous backstage confrontation in which Punk accosted Perry for planning to use real glass for a Collision spot. Perry, reportedly upset with how the Punk camp had represented this story, provoked Punk during his All In match with Hook, commenting down the camera lens: "It's real glass, cry me a river." Per Fightful, the former 'Jungle Boy' considered this his receipt, and had told people he planned on commenting during the Hook contest.
From there, the stories remain inconsistent and scattered.
