Although WWE had planned on having Asuka return to television sometime in February, the promotion hasn't found a way to write her back into storylines.

This is according to PWInsider's Mike Johnson. On Sunday, he commented during a Q&A that "there has been nothing for [Asula] creatively", which may explain why she hasn't re-emerged on programming in February.

It was stated that WWE may be holding off on having Asuka and fellow injured star Bayley show back up until after WrestleMania 38. WWE's biggest show of the year takes place in Dallas, Texas on 2 and 3 April this year.

Asuka has been away from WWE since July 2021, when she took time off to undergo treatment for a shoulder injury as well as going through a dental procedure after losing at least one tooth in a match with Shayna Baszler earlier that year. Two weeks ago, it was reported that WWE hoped to have her back in the ring later in the month. She would need to return on tonight's episode of Raw in order for that to hold true.

Going by what we know now, creative may have to hurriedly throw something together for that to happen.
