Report: Hangman Page Will NOT Main Event AEW All Out 2021
Kenny Omega needs a new opponent for All Out, because it isn't gonna be Adam Page...
As things currently stand, 'Hangman' Adam Page will not be headlining AEW All Out 2021 with Kenny Omega.
Dave Meltzer writes in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while the promotion originally planned on having Page headline the 5 September event, plans change, pal. This leaves the World Championship match completely open.
Christian Cage is a candidate, as AEW's announcers highlighted his surge up the rankings during this week's Dynamite. There is nothing in Meltzer's report to suggest that this will definitely happen at All Out, however, as Cage (or Eddie Kingston, who has also been teased) could end up challenging Omega on television instead.
Hangman and his Dark Order allies lost a 10-man elimination tag to Omega and the rest of The Elite on this week's show, with the bout stipulating a loss would remove them from title contention. Forced to face The Young Bucks and Omega three-on-one after the Order were eliminated, Page ended up getting pinned by Kenny. According to Meltzer, this was designed to spark shock in the audience.
It is stated that AEW will likely go back to Page vs. Omega later down the line. For now, however, Page's redemption is off the table.
