Report: Major "Twists & Turns" Coming At WWE Elimination Chamber 2022
What to expect from WWE Elimination Chamber 2022, including WrestleMania 38 ramifications.
WWE returns to Saudi Arabia for Elimination Chamber 2022 this Saturday, 19 February, and it sounds like the Vince McMahon-helmed promotion is planning a newsworthy night.
Per Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Elimination Chamber will be a show of "twists and turns". This may or may not include the WWE and Universal Championships, as Meltzer noted the internal push to run Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns as a title vs. title match at WrestleMania 38.
Brock vs. Roman is the only bout to be confirmed for the 2/3 April supercard so far. Reigns defends his Universal Title against Goldberg this Saturday, while Lesnar will challenge for the WWE Title he was screwed out of at the Royal Rumble, fighting in a Chamber match featuring Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, Riddle, AJ Styles, and champion Bobby Lashley.
Meltzer initially reported on the title vs. title idea earlier this month, stating that the mood inside WWE was that McMahon was leaning in this direction.
Elimination Chamber 2022 will see WWE paid around $50 million to return to Saudi Arabia. The show is part of an initial 10-year deal signed by the promotion and the Saudi General Sports Authority, serving as part of the Saudi Vision 2030 program to sportswash the regime's horrendous human rights record.
