Report: Released WWE Wrestler Had "INCREDIBLE" Backstage Heat
Sounds like this recently released WWE wrestler wasn't exactly popular backstage...
Jaxson Ryker was one of eight wrestlers released by WWE in its latest round of roster cuts on 18 November, joining the likes of John Morrison, Tegan Nox, and Hit Row in becoming a free agent, though it sounds like some within the promotion actually expected him to be let go sooner.
This is according to Fightful Select, who report that Ryker had "incredible" backstage heat in WWE.
While he attempted to keep a low profile once this initially began to die down, that Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler were taken off television (not returning until after Ryker) following the tweet that plunged Jaxson and (by association) the Forgotten Sons faction into controversy caused issues, keeping the heat going.
One of Fightful's sources stated that once it was clear that Ryker wasn't getting over with fans after splitting from Elias this summer, he faced an uphill struggle. Again, many expected the promotion to sever ties with him in a previous round of releases.
Ryker last wrestled on Raw on 27 September, losing to Karrion Kross in under two minutes. This was his first Monday night appearance in over two months.
The 39-year-old had been with WWE for four years at the time of his release.
