After six months out of action with a torn pectoral muscle, Cody Rhodes is apparently getting back into the swing of things with WWE.

Fightful Select reports that WWE filmed a commercial Thursday in Los Angeles - the site of WrestleMania 39 - that featured the American Nightmare (or someone dressed like him) and Miz locking up on an LA bridge. Fightful was told that Maryse was supposed to be there as well, but it wasn't clear if she was going to be the commercial or was just showing up. The commercial could be to promote 'Mania, or more likely WWE 2K, according to Fightful.

Rhodes tore his pec just days before his Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins at the eponymous PLE in June. Cody still wrestled the brutal match, pulling out a win for the sweep in his trilogy with Rollins. The next night on Raw, Rhodes was written off WWE television when Seth further injured him.

Ever since the injury, many have speculated that Cody Rhodes could return as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble to set up a major program - like challenging for Roman Reigns' Undisputed WWE Universal Title - at WrestleMania 39. Fightful said company sources fully expect Rhodes will be back in time for next year's Showcase of the Immortals.

Shooting promo material - whether it's for WrestleMania or WWE 2K - is definitely a sign that WWE is looking ahead to having the American Nightmare back in the foreseeable future.
