It looks like Tomasso Ciampa's defeat to Tony D'Angelo at NXT Stand & Deliver (2 April) will go down as the 36-year-old's final match as a full-time developmental roster member after all.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that WWE has officially called Ciampa up from NXT to the Raw roster. In addition, the two-time NXT Champion will be in Detroit, Michigan for tonight's Raw and will be at the taping, though there is currently no word on whether or not he will appear on the broadcast.

Ciampa vs. D'Angelo was built up as potentially the former's last match in NXT, where he has primarily competed since becoming a WWE regular in 2015. February 2019 saw Ciampa temporarily move to the main roster alongside fellow NXT stars Ricochet, Johnny Gargano, and Aleister Black, though it was revealed two weeks later that he'd have to undergo neck surgery, sidelining him for seven months.

Tommaso last reigned as NXT Champion from September 2021 to January 2022, when he dropped the strap to current title-holder Bron Breakker (currently in his second reign).

Along with Rhea Ripley, Ciampa has been rumoured as a potential member of Edge's new heel stable with Damian Priest, who wrestles AJ Styles on Raw tonight.
