Report: Top WWE NXT Star's Contract Expires VERY Soon
Could this former champion be about to become the latest high-profile WWE NXT departure?
Kyle O'Reilly's WWE contract is due to expire very, very soon.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that the 34-year-old's current deal with the world's biggest promotion runs out sometime in December. While there's every chance that the three-time NXT Tag Team Champion, who is currently listed as NXT 2.0's number two babyface internally, could end up signing a new deal before then, this seemingly hasn't happened yet.
O'Reilly has maintained a steady televised presence through NXT's transition into NXT 2.0. He currently finds himself paired with tag partner Von Wagner on Tuesday nights, with the duo defeated by Legado Del Fantasma's Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza this week.
2017 saw O'Reilly come into WWE as part of The Undisputed Era with Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and later, Roderick Strong. Of KOR's former stablemates, only Strong remains with the promotion at the time of writing. Both Cole and Fish have wound up in AEW since departing WWE, while Roderick currently reigns as NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
O'Reilly will likely attract a lot of interest should he end up hitting the open market. He may not be the only top NXT star to test free agency in the coming months either, with Johnny Gargano's deal reportedly up on 3 December.
