Report: Triple H "100% Wants" Released Star Back In WWE
Another ex-WWE star might become an ex no longer if Triple H has his way...
Paul 'Triple H' Levesque is interested in bringing Matt Cardona, the former Zack Ryder, back to WWE.
GiveMeSport and WrestleVotes report that Levesque is a fan of what Cardona has been able to accomplish on the independent scene since his WWE release in 2020. Now, Triple H would "100%" take Cardona back, though there's no word on whether or not negotiations have taken place.
Said WrestleVotes:-
"I’ve heard because he’s done on the indies that Hunter is a fan of his. Cardona is not shy about being a lifelong fan and Hunter likes people that that don’t shy away from growing up in this business. Hunter would 100% take Matt Cardona back, but I don’t know if that offer has been extended."
Cardona's wife, Chelsea Green, has been heavily linked with her own WWE comeback lately. To this, WrestleVotes stated that Levesque and NXT chief Shawn Michaels are both big fans of Green, which may prompt WWE to make a "two-for-one" offer on the couple:-
"If he comes in with Chelsea Green, I don’t know. I know he really wants Chelsea back. Specifically, I know Shawn Michaels loves Chelsea Green, so if they want her you would think they kind of make a two-for-one offer, like we’ll take both you guys if you want."
Meanwhile, Cardona is stoking the speculative fires on Instagram by posting a picture of his last WWE title win.
Cardona has both talked up the possibility of a WWE comeback and distanced himself from it in recent weeks. Consistent in his comments, however, is the assertion that if he did return, it'd have to be under his current guise, not as Zack Ryder.
Both Cardona and Green are currently free agents, with Chelsea recently wrapping up her IMPACT Wrestling commitments.
