Following on from last week's report that WWE has "no direction" when it comes to WrestleMania 37's biggest matches, Dave Meltzer writes in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the promotion has now finalised one headlining bout.

Roman Reigns' opponent has been decided. There's no word on who, exactly, 'The Head of the Table' will be facing, but WWE seemingly has somebody nailed down - and it isn't Shinsuke Nakamura.

Recent weeks have seen Nakamura emerge as a strong contender to face Reigns at 'Mania. His surge comes on the back of a tremendous showing in a SmackDown gauntlet match to determine Roman's Universal Title challenger at Royal Rumble 2021, with Adam Pearce "winning" after he was draped over an unconscious Shinsuke by Jey Uso.

Daniel Bryan has been pegged as a potential Rumble winner and Reigns' opponent, Big E could make sense, or Uso if he turns face on the Universal Champion between now and 'Mania. As far as big names go, John Cena is supposedly on his way back for the event.

We could learn Reigns' true opponent as soon as Sunday night, as Meltzer writes elsewhere in the Observer that the Rumble winner has already been decided.
