Report: WWE Planning MAJOR Counter To Sabotage AEW All Out?
Vince McMahon could make the next big move in 2019's new wrestling war.
The new wrestling war is well underway, and it looks like WWE Chairman Vince McMahon could be on the verge of launching a major counter to combat the threat posed by AEW's hotly-anticipated All Out pay-per-view in Chicago on 31 August.
This is according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online's Daily Update. He writes that he has been "told to expect another major counter by WWE shortly," following on from the promotion's decision to stream an EVOLVE show on the WWE Network at the same time as next Saturday's AEW Fight for the Fallen.
Meltzer makes this point in a note about Booker T pulling out of August's Starrcast event, with the former WCW Champion saying that upon cancelling his appearance, he discovered that the WWE vs. AEW was "very real," and he had decided against "being in the middle of it."
It's hard to tell how, exactly, WWE could counter All Out. NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff takes place on the same day but at a different time, while SummerSlam and TakeOver: Toronto go down three weeks prior, so it'd be difficult for them to schedule a show of a similar size. Regardless, AEW probably aren't sweating on it: All Out sold out within minutes of going on sale.
