WWE has released current NXT Tag Tea Champion Nash Carter from his contract, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed.

No further details on Carter's release have come to light yet. This includes the reason behind the company's decision to cut ties with the 27-year-old, who has been the subject of domestic abuse allegations made by his wife, IMPACT Wrestling's Kimber Lee, earlier this week.

On Monday evening, Lee tweeted two photos of herself with facial injuries, alleging that an intoxicated Carter had struck her a year ago:-

Lee also posted the following in two since-deleted tweets (h/t Sportskeeda):-

I would love to be excited for @NashCarterWWE right now but I've hid his abuse for too long. No one should be abandoned the way I've been abandoned. And silenced in hopes of keeping a career.

Beyond these allegations, Lee also tweeted a photograph of Carter imitating a Nazi salute with a moustache similar to Adolf Hitler's:-

Carter, a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion, had been with WWE since signing in December 2020. He and long-time partner Wes Lee took the tag gold from Imperium's Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel at the Stand & Deliver event just four days ago.
