Is WWE's maligned RETRIBUTION faction heading for a split? Last night's Raw certainly suggested so.
RETRIBUTION's Slapjack and Reckoning were booked to face Ricochet and Dana Brooke on Raw. Group leader Mustafa Ali promised that the babyfaces would meet their end, then immediately looked silly as Slapjack and Reckoning fell in less than two minutes, with Reckoning taking the fall to Brooke. This came following a domineering ringside showing from Ali, whose instructions distracted Reckoning ahead of the finish.
Mustafa screamed at his charges for embarrassing him afterwards, shouting "Is this how you repay me?!" at Slapjack.
The admonishment mirrored that of last week. Reckoning looked horrendous in a Brooke singles match that saw her mask fall off and ended in a roll-up, leading to Ali shout at her in the ring. The RETRIBUTION split rumours were kickstarted there and then: now, after a second consecutive week of discontent, it's safe to assume that all isn't well in Camp Ali.
Though Mustafa's unveiling as the group's leader provided a brief spike of interest, RETRIBUTION's run has drawn flak from day one, with the group constantly booked to lose while failing to have any noticeable impact on WWE's shows, despite promising to bring the company to its knees.
