Was it the money, toxicity, or sitting around in catering that caused Andrade to walk out on WWE?

Former WWE wrestler Epico has claimed that being tired of sitting around in catering every week led to Andrade asking for his WWE release two weeks ago.

Speaking with Sportskeeda, Epico said that Andrade, a good friend of his, had told him that he wasn't happy with WWE not using him on television, calling it a "toxic" situation:-

"I've been talking to him. I saw him in Orlando two weeks ago and he was like 'they are not doing anything with me and it's not a matter of the money but me following my dreams. I hate sitting at catering every week. It's pretty toxic when you look at it that way. You've got the best performers in the world over there. Just look at the locker room.'"

Reports that Andrade had requested his WWE release first emerged on 12 March. Predictably, this was followed by WWE turning him down, though the promotion had a change of heart last week, turning the former La Sombra loose on the free agent's market - without a standard 90-day non-compete clause.

Epico had more to say on Andrade, whom he calls one of the best in the world:-

"I'm happy for him. He's put in his time there, he's put in his time outside of WWE, he deserved a better spot and now doing his own thing, nobody can cut his wings off and he can fly high and do what he knows to do best. Right now he's one of the best in the world, second to none. On top of that he's one of my good friends. I was just talking to him today, cracking some jokes and just talking about his future and the future looks bright for him."

There's currently no word on what Andrade might do next, though he is already teasing a return to his old La Sombra character on social media.
