Ring DESTROYED On AEW Dynamite, Major Title Change!
A chaotic end to last night's AEW Dynamite, as the ring literally got cut up...
Samoa Joe defeated rival Darby Allin on last night's AEW Dynamite, successfully recapturing the TNT Title in a main event that saw the ring literally get cut up.
It was the most intense match of the Joe/Allin feud thus far, with blood, weaponry, big bumps, and intense, hateful physicality. The ring destruction came towards the end, though. Looking to destroy his opponent, Darby took a blade to the ties keeping the mat attached to the ring, exposing the boards for maximum impact.
This ultimately backfired on Allin. Though he was in control at the time, Joe hit an avalanche Muscle Buster after shoving the referee away, crotching Darby. The now-former TNT Champion landed on the boards - and in the pinfall was inevitable.
Darby and Joe have been feuding since December, when Joe successfully defended his newly-won TNT strap. Allin then took the belt on 4 January, holding it for just under a month prior to last night's switch, mounting successful defences against Mike Bennett, Juice Robinson, KUSHIDA, and Buddy Matthews.
Joe, also the ROH Television Champion, had his victory celebration spoiled by Wardlow, who had been written off television via an assault from 'The King of Television' in December. That feud looks to have reignited.
