Ring Of Honor Debuting On Destination America June 3

It's a bit of a shock that another wrestling show joins Destination America.

Destination America have announced that Ring of Honor wrestling will debut on their television network starting on Wednesday June 3 at 8pmET/7pmCT. They announced the news via a Twitter post that Ring of Honor retweeted. In a press release, ROH Chief Operating Officer Joe Koff said that this move will help ROH reach more households in the US: €œROH will now reach an additional 57 million households including those in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and other large cities where Ring of Honor is not currently airing. ROH has a loyal fan base and is one of the fastest growing major wrestling franchises in the country. With this great partnership with Destination America, we can continue to expand our footprint and reach while producing entertaining, original content and continuing to provide wrestling fans some of the best wrestling content available.€ It's a great move for Ring of Honor because they weren't in a lot of big markets and now they will be. The problem with Destination America is that it's only been around for about three years and when TNA made the move their American wrestling audience was nearly cut in half. Now TNA is moving to Wednesdays from 9pmET-11pmET so it will follow ROH. Perhaps it will help both companies to be back to back although it's a lot to ask fans to sit through three straight hours of wrestling as we see with WWE Raw on Mondays. This move comes one week after the Wrestling Observer from last week where it was revealed that Destination America was going to cancel TNA Wrestling in September. After the report came out, TNA Wrestling issued a very vague statement saying that it wasn't true although there were major questions about what they were saying too. As for Destination America, they have said nothing in the last week about the TNA cancellation. If it wasn't true, they could have easily said there is nothing to it. However, their silence as well as this move suggests that there appears to be some truth to the rumors. Wednesday is a really busy night for wrestling. Starting on June 3rd there will be Ring of Honor at 8pmET and TNA Impact Wrestling at 9pmET both on Destination America. There's also WWE NXT, which airs at 8pmET on WWE Network although it's also available on demand right after airs. There's also Lucha Underground on the El Rey Network at 8pmET. It's a good thing for wrestling fans because there's a lot of alternative product out there if you want to see wrestlers outside of WWE's main roster. This is still a developing story, so we'll update it in the days and weeks ahead.
