NXT 2.0 wrestler Wendy Choo signed a WWE contract extension at some point in 2021, reports Fightful Select.

The outlet notes that a WWE higher-up had stated that the promotion had "locked her down with a new deal last year." This quote came following Choo's performance in the 2022 Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, where, alongside partner Dakota Kai, she made the finals, eventually falling to Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray on NXT 2.0's 22 March episode.

How long Choo has re-signed with WWE for is currently unknown.

Fightful note that the 30-year-old had actually been offered a new deal with WWE prior to returning from a lengthy injury absence as Tian Sha's Mei Ying, which happened in December 2020. The deal wasn't signed until much later, however.

Speaking of Tian Sha, that supernatural-adjacent stable was a reported favourite of Triple H, with Shawn Michaels throwing his backing behind it as well, though it was scrapped entirely in late November. Soon after, "Wendy Choo" was born, with the real-life Karen Yu assuming her latest gimmick with the company.

Yu has been signed to WWE since February 2019, having debuted for the promotion in the previous year's Mae Young Classic tournament.
