Rob Van Dam will once again be leaving the WWE Universe for a undisclosed period of time. Mr. Monday Night made his latest return to WWE on April 7th of this year -- the night after WrestleMania. Since that time he has been used sparingly, but has competed in the Intercontinental Championship tournament as well as the Money in the Bank ladder match. Van Dam first returned to the WWE in July of 2013. An official announcement was made at that Junes Payback pay-per-view that the high-flying star would return to the company for the first time since his brief appearance at the 2009 Royal Rumble. In the interim, the Whole Damn Show had competed in TNA -- holding both their World Heavyweight and X Division Championships on separate occasions. Since his initial return in July of last year, Van Dam has frankly been a bit unimpressive. Many fans have mocked the legendary superstar by calling him Job Van Dam. It seems that WWE has had no clear plans for RVD since the start, instead using him to elevate new and younger talent. Initially, Van Dam claimed he was unhappy with the way he was being used and left the company when his initial contract ran out at the end of last year. Since then, however, RVD has returned to active competition, although he continues to not do much. Its now being reported that Van Dam will once again be parting ways with WWE -- at least, for the time being. Tonight will see the end of RVDs current run, as he will be a part of the Smackdown television taping in Ontario, Canada. Its unclear if Rob had signed another short-term deal with WWE which has expired, or if the competitor is signed to a longer contract that only requires him to work certain dates. Furthermore, its unclear when Van Dam will return to the company or if he will at all. While nothing has been stated by either party and details are not exactly clear, its safe to assume that RVD will be back at some point. When that is, only he and WWE know.
