Roderick Strong Leaving WWE NXT?
Is the former Undisputed Era man Raw or SmackDown bound?
Roderick Strong is on his way out of WWE NXT.
Last night's show saw the former Tag Team and North American Champion hand in his official resignation to General Manager William Regal, who said that while Roddy had given him issues as part of the Undisputed Era, he was welcome back in NXT whenever he wants.
Strong's decision came in the wake of the Undisputed Era's dissolution, which began with Adam Cole turning on Kyle O'Reilly in February and seemingly concluded at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver last week. O'Reilly defeated Cole in an unsanctioned match on the special's second night.
The angle presumably means Strong is about to show up on one of WWE's other brands. An NXT wrestler since 2016, when he debuted as Austin Aries' partner in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, Raw or SmackDown would be his most obvious landing points, though the upcoming NXT EVOLVE brand could be another option. Roddy featured semi-regularly for Gabe Sapolsky's old indie group between 2014 and 2019.
It'll be interesting to see where Strong lands nonetheless, and if last night's appearance alongside his wife, Marina Shafir, is the start of an on-air partnership.
