ROH Star Moose Backstage At NXT TakeOver: The End
Could the ROH star be headed to WWE?
Just as rumors swirl that WWE is looking to expand its overall roster, ROH star Moose - whose contract is coming due in a few weeks - was confirmed as having attended Wednesday evening's NXT TakeOver: The End.
Moose was photographed with WWE superstars Apollo Crews and Enzo Amore, as well as Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.
WWE has long been interested in the 32-year-old former NFL offensive lineman. When Moose's contract with Ring of Honor was coming to an end last spring, WWE wanted to sign him to a contract. According to reports at the time, the company planned to debut him on Tough Enough, ultimately having him win the competition en route to a push. Ultimately, the star decided to stay with Ring of Honor for another year.
This time, Moose may not be planning on continuing to work the independents. On Wednesday, he tweeted a sentiment that many have taken as a goodbye to Ring of Honor and the company's fans:
Since making his pro debut in 2012, Moose has quickly become one of the top names in the U.S. independent scene. He first started working for Ring of Honor in 2014, and in 2015, he was the first runner-up in the The Wrestling Observer Awards' "Most Improved" category.
