Roman Reigns To Go Head-to-Head With AEW?! (WWE News)
Rumours abound that WWE will put Roman Reigns up against AEW...in AAA!
Wrestling Observer boss Dave Meltzer is reporting that there's a chance none other than Roman Reigns could appear at AAA's show on 26 September. Meltzer reckons there's a great chance the 'OTC' will show up in AAA and be counter programmed against AEW's All Out 2026 pay-per-view that's happening on the same day/night.
AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio was shown talking to Reigns during Monday's episode of Raw, so it looks nailed on that the WWE main man will show up in the promotion sometime soon. He isn't currently booked to wrestle again on PLE until Money In The Bank this October, so Roman has some spare time on his schedule to work with.
Previously, Meltzer figured that Reigns might show face in AAA for the 30 August show (twinned with NXT Heatwave) that's running against All Elite's All In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Then, the Observer head thought that Roman could appear for AAA at Triplemania instead.
It now looks much more likely that the current World Heavyweight Champ will be there for AAA's 26 September card in Chicago: Worlds Collide. For reference, Tony Khan's group will be producing All Out across town themselves on the same day.
Illinois will have a busy evening in late-September!
Dave also thinks there's a shot at both CM Punk and Reigns being in attendance for Worlds Collide. If true, then it shows how keen WWE top brass is to bite back at AEW and try to scoop their glory by deploying some major star power.
