Ronda Rousey's WWE Return: 10 Matches We Must See
10. Stephanie McMahon
Though your writer would normally prefer to say Candyman three times into a mirror than call for the return of a tired WWE on-screen authority figure, this is the one exception.
Rousey was a star and a natural in her debut match at WrestleMania 34 and McMahon, seldom singled out for praise, deserves extra credit for her part in that match. It was a career best performance as McMahon, after patronising the newcomer in the build, suddenly realised when the bell rang just what she was up against. She cowered and sold and generally made Ronda look like a beast.
Of course “The Billion Dollar Princess” has had a few years to forget about her ordeal. Maybe she’s feeling brave and holding a grudge? McMahon has spent a couple of decades cutting WWE’s top male stars down to size and rarely getting her comeuppance.
With Ronda we can enjoy the prospect of Stephanie filled with regret, convinced she’s about to have her arm snapped off. If it’s a straight singles match then this time Triple H won’t be waiting on the apron for her to run away and tag out.
