The are conflicting reports from both The Wrestling Observer and PWInsider about CM Punk's status following his World Heavyweight Title defence vs. Bron Breakker on this past Monday's episode of Raw.

The Observer's Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live that someone went into concussion protocol immediately after Raw this week, and the WOL host believed it was Punk. The reigning World Champ did appear to take a bad bump during his main event bout with Breakker.

However, per PWInsider, it is not Punk that's in concussion watch. They noted that Punk handled on-camera media appearances all-day on Tuesday, so it couldn't have been him. According to their reports, WWE would've been more likely to scrap some of CM's media commitments if they felt he wasn't up to it.

Of course, and this is merely one writer's opinion, there's also a chance that Punk wasn't 100% but still ploughed ahead with the media trail anyway. He's from that old school, "hard knocks" mentality, and this won't have been the first time in his career he's been hurt but soldiered on to do what must be done.

PWInsider say that Punk is fine though, which means Alvarez either got bad info from sources or simply got the concussion victim from WWE's flagship wrong. Either way, the most important thing is that Punk (and everyone else on the WWE roster) is as healthy as possible.

It remains to be seen what Triple H and his creative squad have in mind for the World Champ during WrestleMania 42 season.
