Following a Ticketmaster typo in which they advertised a Raw event as "WWE Monday Night Raw vs WWE", rumours started circulating that Vince McMahon could be bringing back the Brand Extension. However, Ticketmaster have since corrected their mistake, and are now advertising the event on May 23 at the Baltimore Arena as WWE Monday Night Raw. The wording error didn't reflect any WWE plans. Fan speculation was buoyed by the fact that Shane McMahon has just returned to WWE television, and he'll be wrestling The Undertaker at WrestleMania in order to win ownership of Raw from Vince McMahon. In theory, that could have created a situation in which Shane manages Raw and Vince manages Smackdown. However, the timing is coincidence, with WrestleZone reporting that Ticketmaster simply published the ad with a typo error. For Shane to win control of Raw, he'd have to defeat The Undertaker at Mania, and that seems very unlikely. He was drafted in as a replacement for John Cena, and what's going on right now is very much a new direction. There's no long term plan and Shane remains involved with his business outside of WWE. Things could always change, the brand extension could still be an option WWE considers, but for now the rumour is based only a typing error.
