Rusev Is NOT The Father Of Maria Kanellis' Baby!
This week's big reveal was a red herring.
Though he was technically unveiled as the father of Maria Kanellis' baby on this week's episode of WWE Raw, Rusev was not the final reveal.
This is according to Dave Meltzer in this week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He writes that WWE plan on holding off on finishing the story for a while, with the idea being that the big mystery angle could help contribute towards a ratings boost when Maria finally comes clean. Despite this, it's believed that WWE see this as more of a running joke than anything else, though they still expect the outcome to spark intrigue.
No surprises here, then. Kanellis' reaction to Rusev coming out was more "oh, I suppose this'll do," than "here's the father, Mike," as 'The Bulgarian Brute's' music hit while she was finishing her sentence. Regardless, her husband took two poundings as a result of how the angle unfolded, with Rusev's beatdown coming just minutes after Ricochet had bested Mr. K in approximately one minute.
There's no word on who will eventually be unveiled as the actual father at the moment, but throw your suggestions down in the comments section anyway...
