Rush Debuts At AEW Double Or Nothing 2022, Aligns With Andrade El Idolo
Andrade El Idolo finally has his old Los Ingobernables buddy back in AEW.
Former Ring of Honor World Champion Rush is #AllElite, having debuted for All Elite Wrestling at tonight's Double Or Nothing 2022 pay-per-view.
The 33-year-old was introduced in a pretaped backstage segment featuring Andrade El Idolo and Jose the Assitant. Claiming that he was fed up with his situation in AEW, Andrade stated he was bringing in a new business partner, prompting Jose to produce a contract.
Rush walked into the ring on cue, renewing an alliance with Andrade that stretches back years and years, when the duo worked together as part of the original Los Ingobernables in CMLL. It'll be the first time they have worked together in any significant capacity since El Idolo, then La Sombra, left Mexico to sign with WWE in 2015.
Although ROH's demise as a full-time concern would have made him a free agent anyway, Rush had revealed prior to the Sinclair-helmed version of the promotion's hiatus that his deal was due to expire in January 2022, opening speculation on his future. Now, he appears to be committed to AEW.
Known for his immense physical charisma and brawling style, Rush had a three-year run with ROH and should now stand a good chance of becoming a star in mainstream American wrestling.
