Ryan Nemeth Interview: "Heel", Bringing Awareness To Wrestling, Filmmaking, AEW, More
From making a movie to landing a recurring role on AEW TV, Ryan Nemeth has never been busier.
Ryan Nemeth's upcoming film "Heel" is about to shine some light one of the most appalling aspects of professional wrestling: sexual assault.
It's an unfortunate reality of the business that was brought to the forefront during last summer's "Speaking Out" movement. "Heel", however, has been in the works for several years and is Nemeth's way of spreading awareness of the issue.
Following his release from WWE NXT in mid-2013, Nemeth hadn't been seen on a major stage since his recent debut in AEW. He's been a fixture on the company's Dark shows and has even formed a faction for herself with the likes of Peter Avalon, Cezar Bononi and JD Drake.
It's been an exciting time for The Hollywood Hunk, and despite portraying a heel on television, he has only the best intentions when it comes to his passion project hopefully making a difference in the wrestling world once it's officially released.
Ahead of the film festival premiere of "Heel" this weekend in Florida, Nemeth spoke to WhatCulture about the process of getting the movie made, when it will become available for streaming, being brought in to AEW, tips to aspiring filmmakers, and more.
