Ryback Officially Done With WWE
Former Intercontinental Champion confirms departure from company.
After months of inactivity, the inevitable has happened - Ryback's tenure with WWE has officially come to an end.
The former Intercontinental Champion posted a video to Instagram on Friday confirming that he and WWE will no longer be doing business together. Ryback wished the company the best in its future endeavors, and sent good wishes to WWE's superstars.
On May 2, Ryback reportedly flew home before Raw after failing to come to an agreement with Vince McMahon on a new contract. The next day, he shared a lengthy blog post detailing his frustration with the company's pay structure - specifically, he felt it was unfair that stars who lose more matches (and are therefore further down the card) are paid less than those who win more, regardless of their continued hard work or any improvement they might have made.
Ryback went on to say that he could not agree to terms on a new deal given the setup, and that he would only be willing to negotiate with the company if there were some changes made to the way WWE pays its stars. Given the unlikelihood of that happening, he was considered done with the company pending his official contract expiry.
Ryback's next move is unknown, but he said in his video that he will be taking independent bookings and working a full schedule.
