Could the title switch be a sign that Balor is getting a call-up to the main roster and could find himself involved in the finish to WWE Payback's main event next weekend when Roman Reigns takes on AJ Styles?

Balor club now over Bullet club?

WWE did seemingly book an injury angle that could write Balor out of NXT storylines. He appeared to be injured just before the finish which saw Joe end The Demon's 292 reign as NXT champion, a run that dates back to July 4th, 2015.

Here's a video of the finish...

Fans in attendance at the Lowell show last night felt the conclusion of the match was Balor saying goodbye to NXT as he makes the jump to the main roster.

The unexpected title switch certainly adds a new intriguing flavour to WWE Payback next Sunday and what the conclusion of that bout could be. Could we now see a four man stable of Finn Balor, AJ Styles, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson or are WWE pleased with the babyface run of AJ Styles and this is a way of using Balor instead of him, with Styles being innocent during the expected run-in shenanigans of the Reigns title defence?

Very intriguing times, for sure.

For Joe, his title win now likely means there's no main roster call-up for him planned in the short term...
