Samoe Joe Vs Finn Balor - WWE NXT TakeOver Cage Match Announced
Balor vs. Joe III on June 8!
WWE promised a big announcement for Tuesday morning via a live video on their official Facebook page and the company didn't disappoint with NXT General Manager William Regal announcing the first ever cage match to be held at the upcoming NXT TakeOver show.
The match, which will take place on June 8, will feature NXT Champion Samoa Joe defending his title against the former champion, Finn Balor, at Full Sail University.
Joe won the title from Balor in Lowell, Massachusetts at a NXT live event on April 21.
The announcement by Regal on Tuesday also included the official contract signing between Balor and Samoa Joe.
The match at the June 8 TakeOver event will be the third time that these two have headlined a TakeOver show. They began their feud at NXT TakeOver: London last December when Balor retained his title in a tremendous match that went 18:00.
They followed that up with a bout at NXT TakeOver: Dallas during WrestleMania weekend. That encounter saw Joe suffer a gruesome cut to his face which to the match being stopped on multiple occassions in order for officials to wipe away the blood. Balor retained the belt that night as well.
Their June 8 match will be the first time that Balor has taken on the role of challenger.
