This week's WWE SmackDown saw three of the brand's most prominent tag teams (and "free agents" Heavy Machinery) face off to become number one contenders for Shane McMahon and The Miz's Tag Team Championships. Tellingly, Sanity were omitted from the bout.

Such is the story of their main roster run thus far. The grimy trio are lucky to make the air these days, having wrestled just three televised matches between them since September 2018, and it looks like they've finally had enough.

This has understandably led to speculation that the group aren't happy with how things are going, and who could blame them? They were a pushed commodity in NXT, and found their niche as the developmental brand's agent of chaos, but haven't come close to reaching the same level of prominence on SmackDown. Now, they're being spurned in favour of Heavy Machinery, who aren't even affiliated with the blue brand yet.

Nikki Cross settling on Tuesday nights may improve their fortunes, as she has always been Sanity's most popular member. There's no guarantee that'll happen, though, and their immediate prognosis looks grim.
