Sasha Banks is back in WWE, having returned to the promotion for the first time in over a month at last night's Extreme Rules 2021 pay-per-view.

The comeback queen blasted back as a SmackDown Women's Championship match between Becky Lynch and challenger Bianca Belair was nearing its end. Hitting the ring as it looked like Belair was about to finish Lynch with a KOD, Sasha's attack on her WrestleMania 37 opponent prompted a disqualification, with the aftermath setting up a potential three-way feud.

Banks' assault continued after the bell. Then, with Belair laid out, Sasha threw herself into a brawl with the trepidatious Lynch, dropping Becky to leave her laying with Bianca before exiting the ring.

Sasha promised to be on this week's 2021 Draft episode of SmackDown this coming Friday. WWE's annual roster shake-up could end up placing these women on different shows, with the Draft set to conclude on the 4 October episode of Raw.

Prior to last night, Banks had been absent from WWE programming since the 13 August episode of SmackDown, where she was involved in a segment to finalise her SummerSlam 2021 match with Belair. While both competitors were pulled from house shows due to "unforeseen circumstances" that weekend, Bianca was back in time for the pay-per-view. Banks, however, was not, though WWE advertised her for SummerSlam all the way through to bell time.
