Sasha Banks Wants WWE Queen Of The Ring
The Boss wants to become the Queen.
Queen of the Ring, you say? Consider us intrigued.
If Sasha Banks gets her way, WWE will not only deliver a Queen of the Ring tournament, but said tourney will take place on its own PPV.
Speaking to ProSieben MAXX, Banks enthused:
“I think a whole Queen of the Ring tournament for a whole pay-per-view itself would be really cool, but I’ve been waiting for Evolution 2 for a very long time. So maybe we can do that first, and maybe we can start little matches at Evolution for the Queen of the Ring tournament. Maybe something like that can happen.”
Since landing on the main roster in 2015, Banks has gone on to cement her spot as one of the modern-day greats. One has to think, if Banks is publicly pushing for something – be that Evolution 2 or Queen of the Ring – she carries enough sway to influence those behind the scenes of WWE.
As for Evolution 2, that first all-female WWE PPV took place back in October 2018. Since then, fans and talent alike have clamoured for a second edition of this event.
WWE was living in the dark ages for so many years, but recent times has seen the company finally deliver a women’s Royal Rumble match and the aforementioned Evolution PPV. Hopefully the company now has a Queen of the Ring tournament in its crosshairs, for there’s so much female talent across the Raw, SmackDown and NXT brands – and someone like Rhea Ripley winning just such a tournament would instantly mark them out as a major player upon moving to the main roster.
