Fans may have thought that Shane McMahon lost his opportunity to run Raw when he was defeated by The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32, but the past two weeks have been kind to the boy wonder.

Vince McMahon threw the stipulation (and his feud with his son) out the window last week when he gave Shane control of the post-WrestleMania broadcast, and WWE has just released a statement that his indefinite tenure in charge of the show will continue on tonight's episode.

WWE's release read, in part:

"Even though he failed to defeat The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania, Shane McMahon was still granted a temporary reign as Raw€™s showrunner by Mr. McMahon, of all people. His first night at the helm of Monday night€™s hottest show brought us a new Intercontinental Champion, several new Superstar debuts and the return of the fan-favorite Cesaro.

It€™s clear that WWE€™s Prodigal Son didn€™t fall on his face as The Chairman had hoped, and it€™s equally clear that the WWE Universe likes the way Shane runs things. In fact, due to the overwhelming support that Shane received throughout social media throughout the past week, Mr. McMahon has announced that his son will once again be in control of Raw tonight."

Shane McMahon thanked the WWE Universe, tweeting, "Because of all of you, my foot's still in the door. I can't thank you enough. Much love and respect, see you tonight"
