Sin Cara And Simon Gotch Fight Backstage At WWE Smackdown Live Draft
Tag team stars involved in real-life altercation.
The entire WWE roster was present in Worcester, MA, for the very first episode of Smackdown Live and the WWE draft, and apparently, tensions were running high.
PWInsider is reporting that prior to the show, Simon Gotch and Sin Cara got into a fistfight backstage in the catering area. It is not yet known what started the fight or how it progressed.
Both Sin Cara (with Kalisto) and Simon Gotch (with Aiden English) are former NXT Tag Team Champions who have worked together in the developmental brand and on the main roster. Both men, however, have had difficulty recapturing their NXT success in WWE, with Gotch and English, especially, falling from grace following a tournament victory that rendered them number one contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championships. Sin Cara, meanwhile, is about to embark on a singles career following the dissolution of The Lucha Dragons.
Jorge Arias, who took over the role of Sin Cara following the release of Luis "Mistico" Urive, has a backstage victory to his credit from a couple of years ago. According to a report in 2014, former WWE Champion Sheamus picked a fight with the smaller superstar in a trainer's room, and Sin Cara got the better of "The Celtic Warrior" before they were separated. The two men smoothed things out shortly thereafter.
