Bayley has become the superstar with the record of holding the SmackDown Women's Championship for the longest combined amount of days. Congratulations...?

The company confirmed as much with an official announcement on WWE.com, noting that; "After already achieving plenty of success behind her attitude change in recent months, Bayley is also closing out 2019 by making some history. The formerly Huggable One is now the longest combined reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion, amassing 217 days as of Dec. 27 between her two runs at the top of the blue brand to surpass Becky Lynch's previous mark of 216 days. Bayley knocked off Charlotte Flair on the Oct. 11 edition of SmackDown to win the title for a second time."

Bayley offered this rather minimalist response to the news on Twitter.

Though your writer is a huge fan of the former 'Hugger' and plaudits should forever be bestowed upon the NXT icon for her contributions to the company this decade, this one feels extremely WWE in title and tone.

Bayley's been an excellent steward in a transitional period for the SmackDown in 2019, though reigns divided by defeats aren't ordinarily celebrated in this manner. Kudos to her all the same for all the other incredible offerings she's provided over the last few years, even if this one feels a touch hollow.
