Having been months in the making, AEW is finally going to serve up Keith Lee vs. Swerve Strickland at Double or Nothing next month.

As per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingNews.co), the current plan is for Lee and Strickland to have a singles match at Double or Nothing.

Previously the AEW Tag Team Champions, this pairing spectacularly fell apart last December when Swerve turned on Limitless. Said turn happened on an episode of Dynamite, with Strickland and rapper Rick Ross distracting Lee in order for Parker Boudreaux and Trench to attack Big Keith.

Despite this break-up taking place over four months ago by this point, the only in-ring action between these former partners was a tag team bout on AEW Rampage last month. There, Keith Lee and Dustin Rhodes were victorious over Strickland and Boudreaux.

Of course, more recently, Swerve cost Lee his match against Chris Jericho in the main event of last week's AEW Dynamite, putting the wheels in motion for these two to finally square off in singles competition.

Interestingly, Meltzer notes how the intention is to hold off on the "first" Keith Lee vs. Swerve Strickland bout until Double or Nothing, meaning we may well see these two lock horns on multiple occasions.
