Ricochet became the first man ever to win the Battle of Los Angeles more than once when he defeated two up-and-coming behemoths, Keith Lee and Jeff Cobb, in the final.
Traditionally, BOLA serves to elevate a new star in the independent scene, with many fans predicting someone like Cobb, Lee, Matt Riddle, or Travis Banks would get a shining moment. Instead, PWG decided to solidify Ricochet's position as one of the greatest competitors in the promotion's history. He came up short in his quest for the PWG Heavyweight Championship after he won BOLA 2014, so now his win gives him another shot at the gold, this time against his friend and mentor Chuck Taylor.
It may not be the outcome fans are used to, but PWG know what they are doing with regards to their main-event scene. Chuck Taylor will look to prove he can represent the promotion as champion, after his surprise defeat of Zack Sabre Jr. back in July. Cobb, Lee and others will have opportunities down the line, so let's enjoy the ride as Ricochet takes centre stage once more.
