As its been mentioned, Stephanie did some of her best heel work when she stepped out on her own against Daniel Bryan. She pushed back against the Yes Movement and played the crowd magnificently. It helps that Bryan is the ultimate underdog, giving the Billion-Dollar Princess a perfect foil. At the Payback PPV, Stephanie had to contend with a raucous Chicago crowd while trying to get Bryan to surrender his world title or watch his wife Brie get fired. But as she had previously, McMahon played off the crowd nicely. As a CM Punk chant erupted, Stephanie stopped and noted that, These people want you to quit, just like CM Punk did. It was a masterful stroke, with even Bryan stopping to give a shocked expression before composing himself. Stephanie continued to carry a PPV interview segment, even with Bries wooden acting. Her reaction when Brie quit made you want to see her get slapped which then happened. Thats the sign of a great heel: making fans want to see you get your comeuppance, because when it does, the reaction is that much bigger.
