WCW icon Sting has reiterated that he wants to wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31. Speaking to Mirror.co.uk as part of his promotional role in WWE 2K15, the wrestler indicated his desire to join the WWE family. He also put over the idea that he could go into the Hall Of Fame next year. On working for WWE, Sting states "I didn't want to hang it all up and retire and disappear again without having done that in some capacity." That seems to say that his talent contract is signed. The way he speaks suggests that he is as motivated by his legacy as much as his profit making potential in working for WWE. He wants to achieve the one thing he hasn't done, wrestling under what he refers to as "the WWE family." The interview points toward Sting being the main star of the WWE Hall Of Fame 2015 induction ceremony. "Obviously it would be a great honour to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. It's nothing that I would say no to, that's for sure." The most interesting comments however are in relation to the much anticipated Sting vs Undertaker match. The way Sting speaks about this contest is almost proof that it is definitely on the table for next year. He wouldn't build it up in this way if there was no chance of it happening. From Sting's point of view, he's absolutely up for wrestling, so it will come down to whether The Undertaker is fit and willing. "I've made it clear I'd love to have one last hurrah, one last big match hopefully. And of course I've been outspoken about Undertaker being the opponent. "I know what happened at Wrestlemania where Brock Lesnar broke his streak. I think, or at least I'm hoping, that Taker's still going to come back and that he's not done. "I'd love to wrestle him one time before I call it quits. Undertaker maintained a status in wrestling and the WWE that is second to none. He's a phenomenon. How about San Francisco, 2015, in April?" With Sting merchandise being marketed on wwe.com and the legend promoting the idea that he'll be wrestling at WrestleMania 31, we have to believe that his WWE contract is officially signed. It sounds very likely that Sting will be wrestling as part of this deal, hopefully against The Undertaker. The Deadman usually makes his decision on wrestling around the September time. He will surely be influenced by Sting's vocal desire to get the WrestleMania 31 match put together. At the very least, it's a big money making draw, Undertaker will be motivated by both the sentiment and the profit of Sting vs Undertaker headlining next year. However, after stinking up the ring at WrestleMania 30, Taker will undoubtedly be sacrificing his critical legacy in favour of commercial gain. He's physically past it and chronically injured. It's a real shame that Sting couldn't come to his 'WWE Family' realisation sooner.
