As the heartless leader of The Alliance, Stone Cold won back his coveted WWE Championship from Kurt Angle on RAW, just a few weeks after dropping it to 'The Olympic Hero' at Unforgiven. Stone Cold, as the reigning champion, would soon turn face The Rock, on behalf of Team WWF, dispatched The Alliance from the company, once again reigning supreme as the beloved hell raiser.

However, Austin would end up losing the strap to Chris Jericho at December's Vengeance, who was already the World Champion and therefore, by beating Stone Cold became the very first Undisputed Champion thanks to Booker T.

So, a two month title reign that saw him go from heel to babyface, being in a marquee feud that didn't involve his title for most of this reign and losing just a couple of weeks after turning is what makes Steve Austin's last reign his worst one as WWE Champion.
